A vast majority of instructors work in Piper Cherokees and Cessna 172s. They are great planes and perfect for primary training. Having said that, once you expand beyond those planes, you need someone who trains in particular makes and models. The systems become more complex, the speeds faster, and its an absolute necessity to ensure your training is completed by an instructor who knows your plane, your type of plane, and your avionics.
